Querida Tina
As galinhas são amigas.
A casa da Albertina é o nome que damos ao atelier onde são cozinhadas e pensadas as ilustrações do Tique. É também o cenário das muitas histórias que contamos e que temos para contar. Mas acima de tudo é a casa de uma grande família da qual fazem parte muitos animais diferentes com muito para nos ensinar. A Tina foi uma das primeiras residentes desta casa, uma companheira fiel que sempre nos transmitiu calma e nos deu muito amor! A nossa Tina adorava serões no sofá e festinhas nas costas e este tote é uma homenagem a esta importante amizade que tanto nos ensinou!

Chickens are great friends.
Casa da Albertina is the name we give to our atelier where TiqueNervoso's ideias and illustrations are developed. It's also where most of our stories take place. But most importantly it's a house where lives a very special family with many animals who have a lot to teach us. Tina was one of the first residents of this house, a faithful friend who always calmed us down and gave us a lot of love!
Our Tina loved evenings on the couch and pats on her back, and this tote is a tribute to this important friendship that taught us so much!

Não falta respeito, carinho nem preocupação por cada um dos membros desta família especial.
O Cocktail foi inspirado nas nossas amigas galinhas que vivem em comunidade, entreajuda e tanto nos ensinam sobre o significado de família. Conheceram-se na Casa da Albertina, as mais velhas protegem as mais novas, e partilham os seus ensinamentos. As mais novas respeitam quem lá vive há mais tempo e todas juntas construíram este quintal feliz!

At Casa da Albertina there is room for everyone.​
There is no lack of respect, affection or concern for each member of this special family.
Cocktail was inspired by our chicken friends who live in community, help each other and teach us so much about the meaning of family. They met at Casa da Albertina, the older ones protect the younger ones, and share their teachings.
The younger ones respect those who have lived there longer and all together they built this happy backyard!
Pas de Deux
Pas de Deux é uma performance equestre realizada por dois cavalos, que se movimentam em espelho.
Este tote foi lançado no dia de São Valentim, de 2021. Neste dia especial celebra-se o amor, para nós este dia não está reservado aos casais, é uma celebração deste sentimento sem igual que nos aproxima uns dos outros e de nós próprios!
A ilustração deste número foi inspirada na família de pombinhos, do quintal da Albertina. O Chanel e a Chiquinha uma dupla inseparável, que já conta com dois filhos Bolacha e Biscoito!

Pas de Deux // English
Pas de Deux is an equestrian performance with two horses, moving together like a mirror..
This tote was launched on Valentine's Day, 2021. On this special day love is celebrated, for us this day is not reserved for couples, it is a celebration of this unique feeling that brings us closer to each other and to ourselves!
The illustration for this issue was inspired by the pigeon's family from Albertina's backyard. Chanel and Chiquinha are an inseparable duo, who already have two children, Bolacha and Biscoito!

GoodBoi
Certo dia um ovo chegou à Casa da Albertina, sem mãe para o aquecer ou proteger. No quintal estava a Cesa, choca, pronta para cuidar dele, debaixo das suas penas delicadas e defendê-lo a todo o custo de quem quer que se aproximasse.
O Ovo em si já era maior do que os habituais ovos dela e quem morava lá ainda mais ao fim de pouco tempo. Foi assim que nasceu o Dwight, o ganso da Casa da Albertina. Andou sempre atrás dela em bebé, mesmo já depois de ter o dobro do seu tamanho e ela tratou dele como um filho.

One day an egg arrived at Casa da Albertina, with no mother to warm it up or protect it.
In the backyard was Cesa, ready to take care of him under his delicate feathers and defend him at all costs of whoever approached.
The egg itself was already larger than her usual eggs and who lived there even more after a short time. That's how Dwight, the goose from Casa da Albertina, was born.
He was always after her as a baby, even when he was already twice her size, she treated him like a son. Cesa was the mother of other residents at Casa da Albertina, none of them were hers biologically, but that doesn't matter at all, because deep down we're all in this together.

Why Me?
"Cada vez mais animais que antes eram tipicamente "apenas" destinados a produção estão a surgir em consulta veterinária como animais de companhia e parte de uma família.
Um dos maiores desafios, para além de garantir os mesmos cuidados de saúde e profilaxia a que todos os animais de companhia têm direito, são as doenças a que estão sujeitos derivadas da sua selecção para satisfazer as necessidades de uma sociedade cada vez mais exigente - maiores taxas de crescimento e maior postura de ovos, entre outros, em animais destinados a abate em idades jovens.
Muitos destes animais, enquanto animais de companhia, demonstram tendência a ter doenças relacionadas com isso mesmo - problemas de fígado, coração e aparelho reprodutor.
Tive o prazer de conhecer a Daryna e a Rafaela, bem como o resto da sua família, e de, no papel de sua médica veterinária as ajudar a ultrapassar situações complicadas relacionadas com isto mesmo: a Daryna com problemas do sistema reprodutor, e a Rafaela com alterações hepáticas e metabólicas.
Com o acolhimento e dedicação desta família, estas duas galinhas tiveram uma segunda chance de uma vida longa e feliz, e a possibilidade de terem todo o acompanhamento médico veterinário que um animal de companhia deve ter. Mas nem todos os animais têm essa sorte. Porquê uns e não outros? "Why me?""

"More and more animals that before, where "only" intended for production are emerging in veterinary consultations as companion animals and part of a family.
One of the biggest challenges, in addition to guaranteeing the same health care that all pet animals are entitled to, are the diseases to which they are subject resulting from their selection to satisfy the needs of an increasingly demanding society - bigger growth rates and higher egg laying, among others, in animals destined for slaughter at young ages.
Many of these animals, as companion animals, show a tendency to have diseases related to this - liver, heart and reproductive system problems.
I had the pleasure of meeting Daryna and Rafaela, as well as the rest of their family, and, in the role of their veterinarian, helping them to overcome complicated situations related to this: Daryna with reproductive system problems, and Rafaela with hepatic and metabolic alterations.
With the welcoming and dedication of this family, these two chickens had a second chance at a long and happy life, and the possibility of having all the veterinary medical assistance that a pet should have. But not all animals are that lucky. Why some and not others? Why me?"

Um número dedicado aos nossos amigos das ruas de Portugal! Os queridos pombos tantas vezes incompreendidos por quem por eles passa.
Muitas pessoas nada sabem sobre eles, aqui ficam umas curiosidades sobre estes inteligentes amigos:
Os pombos escolhem um parceiro para a vida para partilhar o seu amor e aventuras.
Alguns pombos foram completos heróis de guerra, trabalhando como comunicadores.
Eles voltam sempre para casa! E na Casa da Albertina temos uma família de Pombinhos a viver já há uns anos. A Chiquinha e o Chanel com os seus filhos, Biscoito e Bolacha. Não julguem estes amigos antes de os conhecerem, têm muito para nos ensinar!

An issue dedicated to our friends from the streets of Portugal! The dear pigeons so often misunderstood by some of us. Many people know nothing about them, here are some curiosities about these smart friends:
Pigeons choose a life partner to share their love and adventures with.
Some pigeons were complete war heroes, working as communicators.
They always come home! And at Casa da Albertina we have a family of pigeons, living there for some years now. Chiquinha and Chanel with their children, Biscoito and Cookie.
Don't judge these friends before you get to know them, they have a lot to teach us!
